Review: The Last Platform The Last Platform is a ninety-minute mystery film set almost entirely inside a small railway station during a storm. Its limited setting sounds restrictive, but it becomes one of the film’s main strengths. Because the characters cannot easily leave, ordinary conversations gradually become more tense, and small details in the waiting room begin to matter. The strongest performance comes from Lena Ortiz, who plays a station manager trying to hide a mistake she made years earlier. Her character is convincing because the film allows her to be defensive, funny, and frightened rather than simply mysterious. The sound design is equally effective: distant announcements and passing trains create pressure without relying on constant music. The film is less successful in its final twenty minutes. Once the central secret is revealed, two secondary characters suddenly behave in ways that seem designed mainly to create another surprise. As a result, the ending feels slightly forced. Nevertheless, the earlier tension is strong enough to make the film worth watching. I would recommend The Last Platform to viewers who enjoy slow mysteries driven by character and atmosphere. Anyone expecting action or a complicated detective plot may find it too quiet.
