Last month I started a new job at a small hotel near the city centre. I work at the front desk, so I welcome guests, answer questions, and help people when they need something. Before my first day, I felt nervous because I did not know the staff or the daily routine. I also worried that I might make mistakes in front of customers.

On Monday morning, my manager showed me around the building and introduced me to my team. Everyone was friendly, and that helped me relax. During the first two days, I learned how to check people in, answer phone calls, and use the hotel computer system. There was a lot of information, so in the evening I wrote notes at home to remember everything better.

By Friday, I already felt more confident. I still had questions, but I knew where to ask for help. The job is busy, and sometimes I get tired, but I enjoy meeting new people every day. My first week was not easy, yet it gave me a good feeling about the future.
