Last Sunday, my cousin Eva and I visited the city museum because there was a new exhibition about life in our town one hundred years ago. I do not often go to museums, so I was not sure if I would enjoy it, but Eva really wanted to go.
At the entrance, we bought our tickets and got a small map. First, we walked through a room with old photographs, school books, and clothes from the past. A guide was speaking to a group of visitors, and we listened for a few minutes. He explained how people travelled, studied, and worked many years ago.
Then we went upstairs to a room with paintings and a large model of the old market square. Eva liked the paintings most, but I preferred the model because it made the town’s history easier to imagine. Around noon, we took a short break in the museum café and had tea and cake.
After that, we visited the final room, where there were interactive screens and short audio recordings. We answered some quiz questions and learned more about famous buildings in the town. Before leaving, we stopped at the gift shop. Eva bought postcards, and I bought a small book. In the end, I was happy we went because the visit was much more interesting than I expected.
