Last month, I flew with SkyWays Air, a budget airline that offers very low fares on short European routes. I booked a return ticket for a weekend trip because the price was far lower than the fares offered by larger airlines. Since budget companies usually charge extra for almost everything, I expected a basic experience. Even so, I hoped the journey would be simple, punctual, and good enough for a short trip. After taking both flights, I would say the airline offers reasonable value for money, but only if passengers understand clearly what they are paying for.
The booking process was one of the airline’s strong points. The website was easy to use, and it was simple to compare dates and choose a fare. I also liked that the airline explained the baggage rules quite clearly before payment. With some budget airlines, extra charges appear suddenly at the last moment, but this time the information was more transparent. As a result, I did not feel tricked into paying for services I had not planned to buy.
The main weakness was punctuality. My outbound flight left nearly forty minutes late, and although this was not a disaster, it immediately created some stress because I had already booked a train from the airport. The staff at the gate gave only short updates, so passengers were left guessing how long the delay would last. On the other hand, the cabin crew were polite and calm once everyone boarded, which improved the atmosphere. The seats were narrow and not especially comfortable, but that is fairly normal on low-cost flights, so I cannot say I was surprised.
Another mixed point was the airline’s approach to extras. Food and drinks on board were expensive, and even choosing a seat cost more than I expected. However, the basic ticket itself really was cheap, and the return flight arrived on time without any problems. For travellers who care more about price than comfort, that may be enough. For others, the extra costs could make the total price feel less attractive.
Overall, I would recommend SkyWays Air for short trips if you travel light, read the baggage rules carefully, and stay flexible about timing. It is not the right airline for anyone who wants a relaxed, spacious, full-service experience. However, for students or weekend travellers trying to save money, it can still be a practical option. In short, this is a service that works best when expectations remain realistic.
