Last Saturday, I went to the big market in the town centre with my aunt because we needed food for a family dinner and I also wanted to buy a small present for my grandfather. We arrived quite early, but the place was already busy. People were carrying bags, sellers were opening their stalls, and two men were unloading boxes of fruit from a small truck.

First, we walked to the vegetable section and bought tomatoes, potatoes, onions, and fresh herbs. One friendly vendor let us smell the herbs before we chose them. After that, we went to the bakery and bought warm bread. The market became more crowded every minute, so we had to walk slowly and stay close together.

Then I looked for a present. At one stall, I saw scarves, gloves, and belts. I liked a blue scarf, but my aunt said my grandfather would probably prefer something more practical. A few minutes later, we found a small wooden box with a painted lid. It was simple, useful, and not too expensive, so I decided to buy it.

Before going home, we stopped near the flower stalls and drank fresh orange juice from a paper cup. My bags were heavy and my feet were tired, but I felt happy because we found everything we needed and the market was full of colour, noise, and interesting people.
