Hi, I’m Mia. For a long time, I thought people who woke up at five in the morning were either extremely disciplined or slightly crazy. I could not understand why anyone would choose to leave a warm bed when the world outside was still dark. Then I tried it for one month, and my opinion became more balanced. The first thing I noticed was the quiet. At five in the morning, my phone was not full of messages, the streets were almost empty, and nobody expected me to answer emails. That quiet made it easier to focus. I could read, plan my day, or exercise without feeling that I was already late for something. Another advantage was the feeling of control. When I woke up early, the day did not seem to start suddenly. I had time to make coffee, write a short list, and think about what mattered most. Even if the rest of the day became busy, I had already done something useful for myself. But waking up at five is not magic. It only works if you also go to bed early. During the first week, I made the mistake of sleeping at my usual time and waking up much earlier. By the fourth day, I was tired, impatient, and less productive than before. A morning routine cannot fix a lack of sleep. I also realised that early mornings are not suitable for everyone. Some people work late shifts, study at night, or simply think better in the evening. For them, waking up at five may create more pressure than progress. The goal should not be to copy someone else’s routine. The goal should be to find a schedule that gives you energy. After my one-month experiment, I did not become a perfect 5 A.M. person. I still wake up later on some days. But I understand why some people love early mornings. It is not really about the time on the clock. It is about having a quiet space before the world becomes noisy.
