Last Saturday, my cousin Emma asked me to join her for dinner at a new place in town called Green Table. She had read several good reviews online and wanted to see if the restaurant was really as good as people said. We booked a table for seven o’clock because the restaurant is popular on weekends.

When we arrived, the room looked warm and modern. There were small lights on the walls and soft music in the background. A waiter welcomed us with a smile and showed us to a table near the window. The menu was not very long, but that made it easier to choose. Emma ordered grilled chicken with rice, and I chose mushroom pasta. We also shared a bowl of tomato soup as a starter.

The food arrived quite quickly, and the first part of the meal was excellent. The soup was hot and fresh, and my pasta had a rich flavour. Emma said her chicken was soft and well cooked. However, after half an hour the restaurant became much noisier because a large birthday group came in. It was suddenly difficult to hear each other.

We still enjoyed the evening, especially because the waiter was friendly and offered us free tea when our dessert arrived late. In the end, I would recommend Green Table for its tasty food and kind service, but I would not choose it for a quiet dinner.
