🔍 There & It – Detailed Usage
📍 There
We use there to say when or where something is, or that something exists or is happening:
- There are some pencils on the table.
- There is an English class tomorrow.
- There is a new rule in this lesson.
- There was a school trip last month.
Note: Use there the first time we mention something. For subsequent reference, use it or they:
- There are some pencils on the table. But they are not mine.
- There was a school trip. It was fun.
📌 It
We use it to refer back to something already mentioned, and to talk about times, dates, weather, and distance:
- There is an English class tomorrow. It is at 6 o’clock.
- We saw a big dog in the park. It was friendly.
