🔑 Possessive Adjectives
We use possessive adjectives to show ownership.

🧍♂️ Subject Pronouns vs. Possessive Adjectives
Use subject pronouns with verbs, and possessive adjectives with nouns.
Subject Pronoun | Possessive Adjective | Example |

I | my | I like coffee. → My favorite drink is coffee. |
They | their | They live in Ohio. → That is their house. |
We | our | We are friends. → This is our school. |
📌 Possessive Adjectives are Always Singular
Adjectives in English do not change form. Possessive adjectives stay the same for both singular and plural nouns.
✅ | These are their suitcases. |
❌ | These are theirs suitcases. |
📚 It/Its vs They/Their
Use he/his & she/her for people, it/its for things, and they/their for plural.
- The hotel has its own spa.
- It is a relaxing place.
- I like those chairs, they are beautiful.
- But their legs are too long.
🌦️ It’s for Time & Weather
Use it’s (it is) when talking about time or weather.
- It’s very windy today, but it’s sunny.
- “What time is it?” “It’s three o’clock.”
❓ Is it or Its?
Its is possessive; it’s means “it is.”
Look at that dog. It’s beautiful. I like its hair.
